Meet the Authors

Allison and Laura have a connected friendship that not only goes back decades, but is uniquely connected through adoption. Their friendship began over 20 years ago when they met at college in Springfield, Missouri as sorority sisters with Alpha Sigma Alpha. Rush parties and fraternity gatherings turned into wedding celebrations and baby showers as the years passed. When Laura faced infertility after a battle with cancer, adoption was a beacon of hope. Allison offered unique and valued support on the beautiful adoption journey that followed. As time passed, the life celebrations became more spread out. It was the global pandemic in 2020 that ultimately brought these authors back together through Zoom calls for connection, happy hours and fun. It was during this time that Allison became an adoptive mother. The discussion changed to writing books that make a difference and getting our stories out to others. Not only do these authors hope to help other families by sharing their stories, they are eternally grateful to have connected with each other so deeply in a time when the world felt so alone.
